EPIC STORIES FOR KIDS
This is a book cover project I did for the publisher Riddleland, Epic Stories for Kids. I'm in charge of redesigning and redrawing the old book cover, giving it a completely new look.
After discussing with the client, we decided centering Einstein among animals and aliens' from the real-life stories inside the book. I infused the design with quirky humor, drawing on real-life legends like the sailor swallowed by a whale that survived eventually. My focus was on crafting a narrative illustration that invites young readers into a world of wonder.
WHEN JADE BLOOMS WHITE
This is the book cover I illustrated for "When Jade Blooms White", an epilogue to The Blight, written by Zhao Yang (Z.YANG Perfume and Fragrances), a Malaysian perfume brand that tells stories through scents.
The client's concept is a scene of a warm and cozy café on a winter night, viewed from outside the window, and one of the main characters sitting at a table, looking toward the baristas at the counter. I worked to bring this concept to life in the final illustration.
This side story is part of their narrative universe, and it's now available to read online: Link Here

THE STARS ARE NOT ALIGNING
A dreamy illustration born from the phrase “The stars are not aligning,” featuring a confused little witch trying to fix the stars in her birth chart. I drew inspiration from my love for astrology, bringing horoscopes in the sky and a wise owl companion to life.

THE EARTH GUARDIAN
This piece was inspired by the phrase “The Earth Guardian,” sparked by my younger brother’s diorama. It shows a young wizard sending green light to heal the Earth, with a cat lounging on top. A book and oil lamp nearby hint at a magical study in progress.

MILESTONES: A NUTMAG ANTHOLOGY
I was invited to collaborate with Milestones: A NutMag Anthology, a Penang-based literary magazine under the Malaysian Writers Society, to illustrate two selected poems.
The anthology, now in its second full edition, gathers the voices of 24 writers across creative non-fiction, short fiction, and poetry, accompanied by visual responses from four illustrators.
My contributions focus on interpreting the emotional and symbolic layers of the poems, turning their themes of growth, anticipation, and inner change into visual storytelling.

PICTURE BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS
In A Sea Full Of Stars - Personal Picture Book Project
This is my ongoing personal picture book project about self- discovery and growth. The main character, Aster, is a boy fascinated by marine life. In the story, most people own a star, but Aster has none. One day, his toy seal, Orion, comes to life and invites him on a journey to find his own star.
Sailing across a starry ocean, Aster visits different islands and meets characters with their stars. While he admires them, he wonders why he still hasn’t found his own.
A key moment happens when Aster arrives at a grey “office island.” There he meets a grown-up who laughs at the idea of searching for stars, saying money matters more. The office is filled with sea creature models, showing that this man once loved the ocean too, but forgot his dream. Later, Aster realizes this man is really his grown-up self. By facing him, Aster learns that his true star has always been inside, waiting to shine.
DOUBLE PAGE ILLUSTRATIONS
IN A SEA FULL OF STARS - Personal Picture Book Project

This double-page spread shows Aster holding binoculars, with the starry sea reflected in the lenses. Each star has a different shape and color, symbolizing the uniqueness of every person. In this sea, every star belongs to someone, but some, like Aster’s, are still waiting to be found.

In this spread, Aster prepares for his journey to find his own star. He is shown packing his belongings, while his spirit guide, Orion, hangs from the ceiling, watching over him. His room is filled with marine- themed details: plush sea creatures, books, and a life buoy, suggesting both his fascination with the ocean and his life by the sea.

WOULD YOU RATHER GAME BOOK
I contributed fun and expressive illustrations for this interactive activity book "Would You Rather" Game Book by the publisher Riddleland, filled with quirky "Would You Rather" questions aimed at children aged 6–12.
My role was to visually enhance each scenario with humor and charm, bringing silly questions like: “Would you rather eat a birthday cake made from spinach or a cupcake with onions?” to life through playful characters, exaggerated expressions, and whimsical settings.
This project helped me develop a strong sense for illustrating a wide variety of elements, from imaginative food combinations to dynamic human reactions, quirky environments, and funny animals that spark kids' imaginations.
